Date Night Dining

There is nothing like a date night dining in. Cooking together truly is a great way to truly connect to your special someone (mini food fights are also fun depending on what's cooking). But every once-in-awhile a night out is just plain necessary and FUN! This doesn't always have to be white tablecloth, drop your entire month's paycheck type of dining either.

I'm a big sports fan - I will watch almost anything that has to do with athletics! If it's a big game (for me that might be the 'holy war' (Go Utes)) like game seven of the World Series a big T.V. really is a must. Most of us are not fortunate enough to have an in-house theatre so we search for our nearest sports bar. Winger's Roadhouse Grill is not a true sports bar, but some locations do have strategically placed, large T.V.'s that are perfect for seeing every play (West Valley City, UT has a massive pull down screen!). Since I don't want to sacrifice my food quality just because I want to watch the game and be on a date outside the house, I would say this is your number one place to be.

Winger's Roadhouse Grill's 2 for 20 offer makes date night easy. If you are there for the game you can go traditional sports night and order a Roadhouse Burger and Sticky Finger Dinner. Out for a night with a bit more intimacy and class? I would say the Parmesan Chicken Pasta and Louisiana Catch are the two best picks. Personally, I am a big fan of Brinner (breakfast for dinner), so I'm bound to pick the Wings and Waffle Tower*.

*A note on the Winger's Roadhouse Grill Waffle Tower - Try as I have since my first time trying it, I cannot capture the flavor of this amazing waffle. I catch a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon, but there is something else that I just can't put my finger on - and they won't give away their secret!

Ok, back to date night - Ending a fun night out, dessert is an obvious must when you are out on a date. While Hjalmar's Bread Pudding is quite delicious, I, for whatever reason, think of the Cookie Zookie as a better date night dessert. Perhaps this is because there is nothing quite like the taste of a warm, freshly-baked cookie (not to mention a great way to a guys heart, or is it just his stomach?).

Until next time Roadies!

Rita
